This is due to the global spread of COVID-19. Overseas travel is impossible, and indoor exercise is also restricted. People are relieving stress through relatively safe rounds. The increase in golfers is noticeable. Last year, the domestic golf population rose by about 460,000 compared to 2019, reaching 5.15 million, and the annual number of golf course users is around 40 million. Golf equipment companies are taking advantage of this opportunity by launching various creative ideas.
It’s not just chicken that comes half and half. Golf balls have also been released in half-and-half designs. Dunlop Sports Korea’s Srixon Z-Star Divide is one example. Following Yellow-White and Orange-White, a new Yellow-Orange color has been added. Additionally, three colors of the Q-Star Tour Divide have been introduced. These are popular among young golfers and female golfers who seek individuality and uniqueness. Both sides are colored without white, creating a strong color contrast.
The Q-Star Tour Divide has a matte finish. It features spin skin coating, a fast layer core, and a 338 dimple pattern. The Divide series offers advantages such as convenient putting alignment, spin and directional confirmation around the green, and precise aiming during tee shots. The manufacturer boasts that it "helps golfers reduce their scores in any situation." Collaborations are also a trend. Voice Caddie (VC) has released the T8 Mickey Mouse Edition.
In collaboration with Disney, a special package engraved with the Disney logo was created. Two types of Mickey ball markers (white and red) were added. From the bezel and buttons to the watch face and menu screen UI (User Interface), the Mickey Mouse signature is impressive throughout the product. The lock screen features Mickey Mouse’s characteristic movements. The strap ends are shaped like the character, completing meticulous details. The functions are the same as the existing premium AI golf watch ‘T8.’

Volvik is also engaging in cross-industry collaborations with Disney & Marvel as well as Korea’s leading liquor company Jinro. The toad collaboration golf balls released with Hite Jinro are explosively popular. The set includes vivid balls in packs of four and ball markers featuring the cute blue toad and his girlfriend, the pink toad. Volvik stated, "We will continue to introduce the most outstanding trendy products in the golf industry through unique collaborations."
