Daesin Songchon Cultural Foundation Donates 1 Billion KRW Development Fund to Dongshin University
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Daesin Songchon Cultural Foundation has decided to donate 1 billion KRW as a development fund to Dongshin University.
According to Dongshin University on the 14th, the Daesin Songchon Cultural Foundation will donate 1 billion KRW as a development fund to establish the ‘Dongshin University Daesin International Hall’ and to foster global talents.
Dongshin University plans to actively use the donated development fund to remodel the current dormitory building 1 (Songnim Dormitory) to create the Daesin International Hall, and to nurture global talents in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions as well as attract outstanding foreign students.
The Daesin Songchon Cultural Foundation stated, “Dongshin University, as the first four-year private university in the Jeonnam region, has greatly contributed to nurturing excellent talents and the development of the local community. Recently, we highly evaluated its contributions to the future industrial development of not only the region but also the country through specialization in the new energy industry sector and the establishment of industry-government-academia-research networking, which led us to decide on this development fund donation.”
They added, “We hope that the Dongshin University Daesin International Hall, established through this development fund donation, will serve as a catalyst not only for attracting outstanding foreign students but also for helping local university students grow into global talents.”
In response, Choi Il, President of Dongshin University, said, “We will repay the great intentions of the foundation, which has shown particular interest and support for scholarship projects, by fostering global talents needed by the region and the world.”
Meanwhile, Dongshin University plans to produce and attach a plaque engraved with the background of the donation in front of the Daesin International Hall to honor the intentions of the Daesin Songchon Cultural Foundation.
