"North Korea's Long-Range Cruise Missile Is the Nuclear Tactical Weapon Foretold by Kim Jong-un"
North Korea Expert Ankit Panda Analyzes
"Biden Ignored Short-Range Cruise Missile Test Launch, Bringing Trouble Upon Himself"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] North Korea's newly tested long-range cruise missile was revealed at the military parade last October, and there are claims that it can be equipped with a nuclear warhead. There are criticisms that the United States did not initially worry about North Korea's short-range cruise missile test launches, which escalated the situation.
Ankit Panda, Senior Researcher on Nuclear Policy at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, mentioned this on the 12th (local time) regarding the photos of the new long-range cruise missile test launch released by North Korea's Korean Central News Agency, stating, "Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of North Korea, hinted that this missile can carry tactical nuclear weapons."
General Secretary Kim Jong-un mentioned in the report summarizing the 8th Party Congress on January 8 that "advanced nuclear tactical weapons, including new tactical rockets and medium-to-long-range cruise missiles, have been developed one after another."
Researcher Panda pointed out, "It was a mistake for the United States to ignore the dangers of the short-range cruise missiles launched by North Korea earlier this year."
U.S. President Joe Biden said in March about North Korea's short-range cruise missile test launch, "The Department of Defense said it was business as usual," and added, "Nothing much has changed."
Immediately after this statement, North Korea conducted successive ballistic missile test launches, but the Biden administration did not take aggressive action, considering that it was reviewing its North Korea policy.
