This was a remark addressing Hong's claim that the party does not need to respond to the allegations of prosecution request involving former Prosecutor General Yoon Seokyeol.
On the 12th, Won stated on his Facebook, "Hong said about the so-called prosecution request issue, 'It is neither my business nor the party's business. It is Yoon Seokyeol's personal matter.' I cannot agree with this," expressing his position.
Earlier, Hong had mentioned the prosecution request allegations surrounding former Prosecutor General Yoon on Facebook, arguing, "The party should not get involved in the candidate's personal issues," and added, "While a candidate can just leave, the party must fight a crucial presidential election."
In response, Won said, "I have consistently argued that this presidential election will be a team competition," and pointed out, "We are a one team for regime change. If one side collapses, the team collapses. If the one team spirit breaks down, no matter who becomes the candidate, unity cannot be achieved."
He continued, "I have consistently supported Hong's reinstatement to the party," explaining, "Because only by joining forces can we change the regime." He also added that his support for former Prosecutor General Yoon's party entry and the merger with the People's Party was solely for regime change.
