Gwangju Nam-gu Council Members Draw Attention with Key Central Appointments
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Members of the Nam-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City are consecutively securing key central positions.
According to the Nam-gu Council on the 12th, Chairman Park Hee-yul was appointed as a policy advisory member of the Presidential Committee on Autonomy and Decentralization, and Vice Chairman Cheon Shin-ae was appointed as a financial decentralization committee member of the Democratic Party Central Committee.
In the case of Planning and General Affairs Committee Chairperson Oh Young-soon, she was additionally appointed as the Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party Policy Committee and Chairperson of the Korean Peninsula Peace Economy Subcommittee.
Budget and Accounts Committee Chairperson Jo Ki-ju received a first-class award from Party Leader Song Young-gil.
In response, Hwang Do-young, Chairperson of the Nam-gu Council Operations Committee, evaluated, "This proves that Nam-gu is the ‘center of Gwangju politics’ and the ‘number one political district’." He added, "Isn't this evidence that in every election, they put everything into their efforts and worked hard?"
Chairman Park Hee-yul and the council members emphasized in their appointment and award remarks, "We will be more humble as this means to add strength to the development of Nam-gu and further to the development of Gwangju, and as a representative body of the residents, we will do our best in legislative activities with a more modest attitude until the end of our term."
