Kyungbok University to Begin Early Admission Round 1 Applications from the 10th... Selecting 1,960 Students
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kyungbok University is starting the first round of early admission applications for the 2022 academic year.
Kyungbok University announced that it will accept applications for the first round of early admissions for the 2022 academic year from the 10th of this month until the 4th of next month, selecting 1,960 students (including 401 beyond the quota) across 23 departments.
The number of students to be admitted in this first round corresponds to 88.7% of the total 2,209 students (including those beyond the quota).
By admission type, the number of students to be admitted in the first round is ▲General Admission 179 ▲Special Admission for General High Schools 1,140 ▲Special Admission for Specialized High Schools 139 ▲Special Admission for Talent 13 ▲Special Admission by University (Adult Learners, Experienced Workers, Regional Consideration, Social Consideration) 88, totaling 1,559 students.
Additionally, for special admissions beyond the quota, 401 students will be admitted, including 184 graduates from junior colleges or higher, 99 recipients of basic livelihood security and lower-income groups, and 118 pure foreign students.
The evaluation criteria are as follows: for Nursing and Health-related departments and Early Childhood Education, 80% of the evaluation is based on school records and 20% on interviews; for the Aviation Service department, 40% school records and 60% interviews; for Performing Arts and Practical Music departments, 20% school records and 80% practical skills. Other departments are evaluated with 70% school records, 10% attendance, and 20% interviews.
School records are calculated based on the grades of relevant subjects from the first semester of the first year to the first semester of the third year in the applicant’s department. Attendance only reflects unexcused absences.
Interviews will be conducted face-to-face or via AI from the 6th to the 11th of next month, depending on the department.
Practical exams will be held on the 15th of next month only for the Practical Music and Performing Arts departments.

Kyungbok University has separated the Software Convergence department into Coding Major, Cybersecurity Major, Cloud Services Major, and Data Analysis Major to foster creative convergence talents leading the 4th Industrial Revolution. Applicants can select up to two preferred majors. Notably, students in this department can change their major after admission.
