Ministry of Science and ICT Publishes Detailed Report on 10 Core Technologies for Carbon Neutrality
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 10th that it has published a report containing detailed development directions and technology development strategies for the 10 core technologies to achieve the 2050 carbon neutrality goal.
This report easily summarizes the specific technology goals and key technology development directions by 2050 for the 10 core carbon neutrality technologies within the 'Carbon Neutral Technology Innovation Promotion Strategy' announced in March this year to technically support 2050 carbon neutrality.
Specifically, it covers the domestic and international status, core technologies, vision and goals, and detailed technology promotion strategies for ▲solar power and wind power, ▲hydrogen, ▲bioenergy, ▲steel and cement, ▲petrochemicals, ▲industrial process advancement, ▲transportation efficiency, ▲building efficiency, ▲digitalization, and ▲CCUS.
Minister Lim Hye-sook of the Ministry of Science and ICT said in the foreword, “Carbon neutrality is an unavoidable global challenge, and the government plans to continuously focus its policy capabilities on accelerating the securing of the 10 core technologies and fostering an innovation ecosystem to support carbon neutrality technology innovation.”
