Attorney So Sun-moo of Yulchon Joins Community Chest of Korea Honor Society as Member No. 2700

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Attorney So Sun-moo of the law firm Yulchon donated 100 million KRW and became the 2700th member of the Community Chest of Korea Honor Society.
At the induction ceremony held on the 8th at the Community Chest of Korea Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, Attorney So and his spouse, former Kyung Hee University Medical School professor Lee Hee-joo, attended, along with Jo Heung-sik, chairman of the Community Chest of Korea, and others.
At the ceremony, Attorney So said, "To establish a culture of donation, I decided to take the lead and practice sharing myself," adding, "I hope the donation will be used for guardianship-related projects that will support the aging society."
Attorney So has served as the second chairman of ‘Onyul,’ a public interest corporation established by Yulchon, and as the inaugural president of the Korea Guardianship Association, working to spread and establish the adult guardianship system. He also represented the late Dr. Hwang Pil-sang, whose donation of stocks worth about 18 billion KRW and the resulting 14 billion KRW tax became a topic of public attention. In April, he was awarded the Order of the Mugunghwa Medal in recognition of his contributions over 40 years as a legal professional to the development of legal culture and the realization of social justice.

Meanwhile, as of this date, the number of Honor Society members stands at 2,702, with cumulative donations amounting to approximately 291.5 billion KRW. By occupation, businesspeople are the largest group with 1,279 members (47.3%), followed by professionals with 387 members (14.3%).
