43 Confirmed Cases in Gwangju on the 7th... From Schools to Churches and Foreigners, the Spread Widens

COVID-19 infections appear to be spreading rapidly, centered around workplaces employing foreigners and schools.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 8th, 43 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Gwangju in one day, classified as cases 4303 to 4345.
Seven of these, cases 4326 and 4339 to 4344, were confirmed to be related to a middle school in Buk-gu. Among them, cases 4339 to 4341 and 4343 to 4344 are infection cases that spread from the middle school to a church.
Regarding the middle school, case 4300, confirmed positive on the 6th, visited a church over the past weekend, and five church members who overlapped in movement paths were confirmed positive.
Infections are also continuing among foreigners, who have recently shown a steep increase in cases.
Fourteen people related to workplaces employing foreigners and two people related to a logistics center were confirmed positive.
Since the end of July, Gwangju City has been conducting diagnostic tests for foreigners and others, and as COVID-19 infections spread mainly among foreigners from last week, an administrative order for diagnostic testing was issued.
The order applies to workplaces employing foreign workers, undocumented foreigners, and both domestic and foreign nationals until the 10th.
A total of 36 people have been confirmed positive over the past six days since the 3rd.
At a medical institution located in Dong-gu, four additional cases including patients and caregivers were confirmed, increasing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 15.
Additionally, 10 people were confirmed positive after contact with existing confirmed cases, two were contacts of confirmed cases from other cities or provinces, and four have unknown infection routes.
