On the 9th of last month, a post titled "Praising Kang Nahyun, a 5th-grade, Class 3 student at Bugu Elementary School" was uploaded on the 'Let's Praise' bulletin board on the Gyeongsangbuk-do Uljin Office of Education website.
According to the author, Mr. Kim, their family went on vacation to Uljin on July 31. On the first day of the vacation, they went to see Bulyoung Valley, and since the children wanted to play in the valley, they allowed them to play in the water under their supervision.

Mr. Kim immediately jumped into the water but was too far away. At that moment, a girl suddenly jumped into the valley water and brought the two children to a shallow area.
Mr. Kim explained, "At that time, the adults around were playing with their own children and did not notice the situation. What would have happened if that girl hadn’t seen it either?" He added, "My whole body was trembling, and it was a very frightening moment."
He continued, "I was so flustered at the time that I only said thank you and came out of the water. I wanted to calm down and visit to give a gift, so I asked the girl and her mother for their address, but they firmly declined. I barely found out that she attends Bugu Elementary School," he said.
Mr. Kim said, "A 5th-grade elementary school student saved two children, a 2nd grader and a 7-year-old. I truly think she deserves praise. I want to praise her sincerely, so I am leaving this long message." He expressed his gratitude, saying, "I want to sincerely thank Kang Nahyun. I will never forget you, Nahyun."
