Gwangju City Completes COVID Testing Administrative Order for 14,939 'Foreigners, etc.'
35 Positive Cases, 14,882 Negative Cases, 22 Under Testing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City has recorded that a total of 14,939 people have undergone COVID-19 diagnostic tests following the administrative order issued to foreigners and others.
According to Gwangju City on the 7th, the city issued an administrative order for COVID-19 diagnostic testing targeting workplaces employing foreign workers, undocumented foreigners, and both domestic and foreign nationals for eight days from the 3rd to the 10th.
The city had been conducting diagnostic tests for foreigners since the end of July, but due to the recent spread of COVID-19 infections mainly among foreigners starting last week, the administrative order was issued.
So far, a total of 14,939 people have been tested, with 35 confirmed positive and 14,882 confirmed negative. Twenty-two people are awaiting test results.
Screening clinics are being operated at five public health centers, the outdoor plaza of City Hall, and Hanam Parking Tower (13 Hanamullo, Gwangsan-gu).
The Hanam Parking Tower screening clinic operates from 3 PM to 8 PM (until the 10th), the City Hall outdoor plaza from 2 PM to 10 PM, and the five public health centers from 8:30 AM to 11 AM and 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
