On the same day, during the comprehensive policy questioning at the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, Kim emphasized the need for a slowdown in the process in response to a question from Lee Tae-gyu, a member of the People’s Party, asking, "What do you think about the Media Arbitration Act?"
Kim said, "In an interview with a media outlet, I mentioned that despite the legitimate reasons behind this law, if it is pushed through forcefully, it could cause public misunderstanding," adding, "However, since it is currently being debated within the legislature, it is not appropriate for the government to comment."
When asked whether he would recommend the president exercise a veto if the amendment is forcibly passed without smooth consultation between the ruling and opposition parties, he drew a line by saying, "It is not appropriate to speak hypothetically about matters under discussion in the National Assembly."
