Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Supports Social Economy Enterprises in Expanding Overseas Market Access
Support for Customized Overseas Market Development in Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang Areas
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 6th that it will promote the 2021 ‘YGPA Social Economy Enterprises Overseas Market Development Support Project’ to establish a foundation for overseas market entry and expand sales channels for social economy enterprises in the region.
This project targets social economy enterprises (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the Yeosu, Suncheon, and Gwangyang areas and is divided into three fields for overseas market development: △FTA consulting △production of promotional materials for export products △online marketing.
The authority plans to recruit a total of three supported companies and invest a budget of about 10 million KRW, including providing up to 3 million KRW to companies that complete the planned market expansion project.

Choi Yeon-cheol, Vice President of the authority (Executive Director of Win-Win Cooperation), said, “We expect this to greatly help social economy enterprises in our region, which are struggling to create overseas export markets due to COVID-19, in developing overseas sales channels and alleviating export difficulties,” adding, “We will systematically support participating companies so that practical results such as signing contracts with overseas clients and expanding sales can be achieved.”
