[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Park Jumin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's 'accusation outsourcing' allegations, "This should not be simply evaluated as 'accusation outsourcing' but rather called political manipulation or election interference."
On the 6th, Park appeared on YTN Radio's 'Hwang Boseon's Start of a New Morning' and said, "If the currently reported contents are true, this is an unprecedented event."
He pointed out, "Many media outlets are evaluating this case only as accusation outsourcing, but this is not a simple accusation outsourcing. Since it involves public institutions intervening ahead of an election, calling it a gate is insufficient."
He continued, "I believe there is a very high possibility that the reported content is true. If it were not definitely true, Representative Kim Woong himself would have come forward to speak, but in the statement he already released, he said he 'received and passed it on.' Since then, he has essentially remained without expressing any opinion, hasn't he?"
He added, "I am skeptical about how much investigation Representative Lee has conducted without having done a party audit yet." He also claimed, "There is evidence of transmission via Telegram, but today the media reported that a People Power Party official said that the chat room was destroyed. Since it was transmitted via Telegram, (Representative Lee) might not have called it an 'official receipt,' so it needs to be examined further."
Park said, "We have not secured sufficient materials to ascertain the facts, but we plan to request them at today's scheduled National Assembly Judiciary Committee meeting," adding, "Then we will be able to officially investigate the materials."
Regarding this, he stated, "(The Judiciary Committee's urgent inquiry) is a session to call related agencies to verify the truth of the recently reported contents," and "It is not a session to summon the parties involved or those identified as related."
He said, "Questioning the parties involved will be the next step," and "We intend to verify the reported contents and ask about the relationship between the Investigation Information Policy Officer and the then Prosecutor General, as well as the relationship with the Public Investigation Department Chief, who was specified as the recipient of the accusation."
Earlier, on the 2nd, the internet media 'News Bus' reported that on April 3 last year, Son, the Human Rights Protection Officer who worked as the Investigation Information Policy Officer (currently Investigation Information Officer) at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office during former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's tenure, delivered an accusation document concerning pro-government figures to Representative Kim Woong, who was then a candidate of the United Future Party (now People Power Party).
