[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Hi-Mart announced on the 3rd that it will conduct online training to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management among small and medium-sized partner companies. The training targets partners in product manufacturing, logistics, and service sectors.
Lotte Hi-Mart stated regarding this online training, "It is part of the 'Cooperative ESG Support Project' agreement signed with the Win-Win Growth Committee last June," adding, "This online training is conducted using the win-win cooperation fund contributed through the agreement."
The training consists of seven courses covering key ESG indicators such as safety, environment, labor, and human rights. A specially prepared 'SME ESG Standard Guideline' manual is provided to small and medium partners for the training. It contains essential content for ESG management, including sustainable management issues that may arise on-site, the latest legal regulations such as labor and environmental laws, and best practices in ESG management. A 'SME ESG Self-Diagnosis Checklist' is also provided to help small and medium partners assess their ESG management practices independently, which will later be utilized by ESG professional consultants.
Lotte Hi-Mart offers the online training free of charge even to small and medium enterprises without partnerships. Applications can be made through the 'Sangsaeng Nuri' site, which provides win-win growth programs for large and small enterprises, until the 30th of this month.
Han Yulhee, Head of Compliance Management at Lotte Hi-Mart, said, "We hope this ESG online training will be of great help for small and medium partners to establish a foundation for ESG management activities," and added, "Lotte Hi-Mart will continue activities to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises and promote mutual growth."
