Lotte Chilsung Beverage pursued this business agreement to maximize the efficiency of the ‘Beer Cluster Project,’ aimed at coexistence with small and medium-sized breweries and revitalizing the craft beer market.
KAIST’s 'STAR' platform was planned in response to the need for new value creation in data collection, analysis, and result sharing. Through this business agreement, it is expected to maximize efficiency in the production of various types of craft beer commissioned by Lotte Chilsung Beverage.
In particular, the project will address improvements in the manufacturing environment where various products must be produced in a single factory by applying KAIST’s project-based professor learning method to provide solutions for scheduling efficiency. Based on this, a new open innovation collaboration involving schools, large corporations, and small and medium breweries will be carried out for mutual growth.
A Lotte Chilsung Beverage official stated, “This business agreement was planned for the ‘Craft Beer Cluster Creation Project’ to promote win-win management with small and medium-sized breweries,” adding, “We will continue to lead win-win management through various support projects for small and medium-sized breweries, including not only product production but also distribution, marketing, and R&D.”
