Gangnam Jevisco Develops Ultra-Fast PCM Coating 'KC170' for Color Steel Sheets
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Gangnam Jevisco Co., Ltd. announced on the 3rd that it has successfully completed the development of the ultra-high-speed color steel sheet PCM coating 'KCP170' and has started sales.
PCM (Pre Coated Metal) coating is a type of coating applied to steel sheets in coil form before manufacturing the product. It is typically used for coating parts such as washing machine or refrigerator side panels, requiring high-level technology because the process must prioritize the workability and hardness of the color steel sheet.
The coating speed is critical for PCM coatings, but until now, coating speeds above 130 mpm (meters per minute) have caused a decline in the workability and functionality of the color steel sheet coating, making high-speed coating impossible. Gangnam Jevisco has now succeeded in developing a coating that maintains workability and product functionality even at speeds of 200 mpm, demonstrating its industrial coating technology capabilities.
The ultra-high-speed PCM coating 'KCP170' developed by Gangnam Jevisco is currently being stably applied at KG Dongbu Steel's Dangjin plant, which boasts the highest speed in Asia, on the 200 mpm color steel sheet ultra-high-speed production line, and is recognized for its excellent scratch resistance and weather resistance, confirming its quality.

A Gangnam Jevisco official stated, "KCP170, developed domestically for the first time through three years of research and development, is designed for ultra-high-speed coating, maximizing the production efficiency of high-quality color steel sheets and serving as a revolutionary coating that can replace low-cost imported color steel sheets." He added, "We plan to continue investing in the development of various high-performance industrial coatings that can target not only the domestic market but also overseas markets through ongoing research and development."
