Park Young-sook, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, "Pointing Out Outdoor Drinking Issues During the COVID-19 Era"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Park Young-sook, a member of the Seo-gu Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, pointed out the issue of outdoor drinking during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 2nd, during the first plenary session of the 298th extraordinary meeting, Councilor Park stated in a 5-minute free speech, “Due to the sharp increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases, restaurants and entertainment establishments are prohibited from operating after 10 p.m., but the number of citizens drinking outdoors has noticeably increased,” adding, “I am concerned that this may lead to cluster infections and further spread of COVID-19.”
Councilor Park added, “Active guidance activities by Seo-gu Office are necessary to address the indiscriminate outdoor drinking behavior of citizens at night.”
