On the 1st, during the 'Democratic Party Presidential Candidate One-on-One Debate' hosted by OhmyNews, former Minister Choo pointed out, "(Governor Lee) shows an evasive attitude toward sensitive issues," adding, "He has not taken a clear stance on the cancellation of former Minister Cho's daughter's admission to Pusan National University."
In response, Governor Lee said, "It is unfortunate," but avoided answering by stating, "The procedure is still ongoing, so I will observe the process and then make a judgment."
Former Minister Choo asked again, "In the case of Cho Kuk's daughter, based on the presumption of innocence, (the admission cancellation) should not happen. It is very wrong to preemptively cancel the admission when she graduated long ago and even passed the national exam," and asked Governor Lee, "Do you agree?"
Governor Lee drew a line by saying, "I prefer to speak about policy issues directly related to the lives of the people."
Meanwhile, regarding the 'Amendment to the Media Arbitration Act,' former Minister Choo criticized, "(Governor Lee) said he is in a watching position and that it is a matter for the party in the National Assembly," adding, "Compared to his persistent attitude toward the administration over the nationwide disaster relief fund, it seems he avoids important and sensitive issues."
Governor Lee responded, "There is probably no one who has suffered as much as I have from the media," and said, "It is a clear position that strong punitive sanctions are necessary if the privileges given to the media are abused to threaten the democratic system. I made my position clear the next day."
