National Tax Service Promotes 186 Officials to Deputy Director Positions
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The National Tax Service has carried out promotions for the position of Samugwan (assistant manager) for the year 2021.
This year, a total of 186 employees were promoted to Samugwan, including 183 in the tax profession and 3 in the IT profession.
The National Tax Service stated, "Despite difficult working conditions such as the COVID-19 crisis, we secured the largest number of promotions in the past five years to boost the morale of employees who are diligently fulfilling their duties." It added, "Even within the limited pool of promotion candidates, we selected women, 7th and 9th grade open competitive exam passers, and tax office workers in a balanced manner."

Among the promoted employees, 31 (16.7%) are women, 98 (52.7%) passed the 7th and 9th grade open competitive exams, and 35 (19.1%) are tax office workers.
