Tomorrow's Weather: Rain Nationwide... Up to 250mm or More
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Heavy and intense rain will pour nationwide between August 31 and September 1.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 30th that due to the influence of a pressure trough approaching from the West Sea from August 31 to September 1, most regions across the country will experience rainfall.
In particular, from the afternoon of the 31st through the following day, very heavy rain of 50 to 70 mm per hour accompanied by strong gusts and thunder and lightning will occur mainly in southern Gyeonggi, southern Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, Jeonbuk, and the Gyeongbuk area. The Chungcheong region is expected to receive over 250 mm, and southern Gyeonggi, southern Gangwon, and northern Gyeongbuk over 200 mm of very heavy rain, which may lead to the issuance of heavy rain warnings.
Expected precipitation amounts are 50 to 150 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, Chungcheong region, Jeonbuk, and Gyeongbuk area (with over 250 mm in parts of Chungcheong, and over 200 mm in southern Gyeonggi, southern Gangwon, and northern Gyeongbuk), 10 to 60 mm in Jeonnam, Gyeongnam, Ulleungdo and Dokdo, and the five West Sea islands, and 5 to 20 mm in Jeju Island.
The mornings and evenings will be cool, but daytime temperatures will remain warm.
Especially in Jeonnam, Gyeongnam, and some parts of Jeju Island, the daytime high temperature is expected to rise above 30 degrees Celsius, with the apparent temperature exceeding 31 degrees Celsius.
The morning low temperatures on the 31st are expected to range from 18 to 25 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius by region.
From the night of the 31st, strong winds blowing at 25 to 45 km/h will affect the West Coast, and on September 1, most coastal areas. The Korea Meteorological Administration emphasized the need to manage facilities and be cautious of safety accidents to prevent damage.
From dawn to morning on the 31st, fog with visibility less than 1 km may form in the central inland areas.
