Daejeon City Provides '500,000 KRW Public Utility Support' to Businesses Under Gathering Bans and Operation Restrictions
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 30th that it will provide 500,000 KRW in public utility fee support to small business owners who suffered business losses due to the spread of COVID-19 and the prolonged social distancing measures.
The support targets businesses that were subject to gathering bans and business restrictions under the Level 4 social distancing measures implemented on the 27th of last month and complied with these orders. Eligible businesses must meet the following conditions: ▲ have a business location in Daejeon ▲ be operating (not closed or suspended) at the time of application ▲ have a business registration opening date before the 31st of this month.
However, if multiple businesses are operated, support will be provided separately for each business registered under the business registration.
The support will be carried out in two phases: the first rapid payment and the second application and verification payment.
The first rapid payment targets approximately 22,000 businesses on the city’s list of gathering ban and business restriction subjects whose payment information can be verified. The city will send a notification text message to the first rapid payment recipients on the 31st and provide the support funds directly to their accounts without a separate application process.
The second application and verification payment is for small business owners who were omitted from the first payment. Applications can be made from the 1st to the 30th of next month through the Daejeon Job and Economy Promotion Agency website (online) or by visiting the Daejeon Small Business Support Center of the Job and Economy Promotion Agency.
The city plans to provide the support funds with minimal verification procedures to avoid inconvenience in public utility fee support. Required application documents include business registration certificate, bankbook copy, and business operation license by industry.
For more detailed information, refer to the city’s public notice or contact the dedicated public utility fee support call center.
