Jangseong-gun Holds 'Food Plan Integrated Organization Operation Plan Briefing'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 30th that it recently held a 'Food Plan Integrated Organization Operation Plan Briefing' at the county office academy hall.
The Food Plan is a project that plans the entire process of production, distribution, and consumption of agricultural products within the region to provide safe and healthy food on consumers' tables and guarantee stable income for farmers.
The county is promoting the 'Jangseong-type Food Plan,' which systematizes the stable sale of high-quality agricultural products produced by local farmers.
It is a governance-type model jointly participated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Jangseong-gun, Nonghyup, and the military, and is the first case among local governments nationwide.
At the briefing, the following were conducted: ▲ Report on the progress of the Jangseong-type Food Plan ▲ Analysis of the necessity of a public-type integrated food plan operation organization by an external expert (Regional Partner Plus) ▲ Feasibility study report on the establishment of a public-type foundation for the Jangseong Food Plan integrated organization (Gwangju Jeonnam Research Institute).
The county reported that 88.9% of residents surveyed about the Food Plan supported the establishment of the foundation.
The foundation is a public-type integrated operation organization that will comprehensively manage the entire Food Plan project, including local food direct stores and public meal centers.
Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “The need to establish a public-type foundation that can consolidate the synergy effect of the Food Plan project is emerging to build the county’s goal of a ‘prosperous wealthy farming village.’ We hope that the county, Jangseong County Council, Nonghyup, and farmers will continue to exchange sufficient opinions together.”
