The Brewing Car campaign is based on customer stories and seeks out ordinary but special heroes who brighten our society to personally deliver messages of thanks and encouragement. By using the same coffee machines as Starbucks stores, Starbucks partners prepare and serve the beverages directly, providing an experience similar to enjoying coffee at a store.
Starbucks expanded from 10 to 11 meaningful locations in local communities including Busan, Gwangju, Daegu, Gongju, Gyeonggi, and Seoul, delivering 1,300 beverages and over 1,100 rice chip food items. From the campaign’s launch on the 9th until the 25th, the Brewing Car traveled a total distance of 1,619 km across the country.
Notably, on the 19th, based on a neighbor’s story wishing to gift a refreshing break to senior public workers volunteering as traffic light attendants and silver delivery seniors in the Gwangju area for children’s safety, about 100 beverages and food items were delivered to the seniors.
In addition, the campaign met hidden heroes in our society doing their best in their respective roles, including medical staff at the Seoul National Police Hospital, the Gyeonggi branch of the Korean Red Cross, senior farmers in Gongju, Chungnam, 119 safety center paramedics, young artists in creative art spaces, emergency traffic light repair workers, soccer team players, and university sanitation workers, delivering refreshing beverages and messages of encouragement.
