It has become an era where universities, which previously competed individually, now fill each other's gaps and collaborate.
The Busan LINC+ Consortium, composed of LINC+ project teams from six universities in the Busan area (Dongmyung University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Pukyong National University, and Korea Maritime and Ocean University), began a two-day forum on the 27th at Dongwon Resort in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, to share outstanding achievements and strengthen the industry-academia-research coexistence ecosystem.
The forum includes ▲a special lecture on strengthening the industry-academia-research coexistence ecosystem (Seo Jeong-hoon, Director of the Southeast Regional Strategic Industry Research Institute) ▲sharing of excellent results from the LINC+ project ▲discussion on LINC+ sharing and collaboration methods ▲signing of an MOU for online short-term industry courses in specialized fields of LINC+ universities ▲and discussions on collaboration directions for entering LINC 3.0.
LINC 3.0 aims to advance the achievements of phases 1 and 2, induce substantial growth of the university industry-academia-research cooperation model, and create an ecosystem where universities and industries develop together.
The six Busan-area universities’ LINC+ project teams plan to promote sustainable LINC+ project design and dissemination of results through sharing and collaboration.
They plan to unite efforts for ▲differentiation and advancement of industry-academia cooperation projects ▲creating synergy through sharing and coexistence programs of excellent Busan LINC+ projects ▲and entering LINC 3.0 by establishing shared models of industry-academia cooperation projects and advancing operational systems.
The consortium explained, “By creating an industry-academia-research cooperation ecosystem where universities and industries coexist and grow, universities will strengthen competitiveness by supplying high-level talent in new technologies and creating high added value through knowledge and technology transfer, while industries will lay the foundation for innovative growth through technological innovation and creation of new growth engines.”
The six Busan-area universities’ LINC+ project teams started last year with an agreement to develop and operate online entrepreneurship education programs such as a non-face-to-face startup camp in response to COVID-19.
