[2022 Early Admission] Ewha Womans University Expands Recruitment Scale for Comprehensive Student Record and Curriculum Screening
Ewha Womans University will expand the number of admissions for the Comprehensive Student Record and Student Record Screening in the 2022 academic year early admissions. The number of admissions for the Essay Screening and Practical Skills Screening will decrease compared to last year. A new AI major in the AI Convergence Department will admit 10 freshmen, and the College of Pharmacy, which has changed to an integrated 6-year program, will also recruit 30 freshmen.
This year, out of the 3,133 regular quota admissions, 2,090 students, accounting for 66.7%, will be selected through early admissions. By screening type, the Comprehensive Student Record Screening admits the most with 1,054 students, followed by 400 students in the High School Recommendation Screening, which is a Student Record Screening, and 330 students in the Essay Screening.
The number of admissions for the Comprehensive Student Record Screening has been steadily increasing, and this year it will admit 1,054 students (889 for Future Talent, 150 for Equal Opportunity, and 15 for Social Contribution). It admits the largest number of students among early admission types. This year, the Comprehensive Student Record Screening (Equal Opportunity) added eligibility for students from rural areas. Ewha Womans University's Comprehensive Student Record Screening evaluates 100% based on documents without interviews. Submitted documents include the school life record and self-introduction letter. Applicants' academic ability, excellence in school activities, and potential for development are qualitatively and comprehensively evaluated based on their curricular activities and school life.
The number of admissions for the Student Record Screening (High School Recommendation Screening) increased by 30 from last year to 400. This year, the number of recommendations per high school is up to 5% of the enrolled female students regardless of humanities or natural sciences, with a maximum of 10 students. Selection is made by combining 80% academic records and 20% interview scores without applying the minimum CSAT score requirement. Eligibility requires applicants to be domestic high school graduates after February 2021 (including those expected to graduate in February 2022) who have obtained grades for at least five semesters in the domestic high school curriculum up to the first semester of their third year. A major feature of the High School Recommendation Screening is that all applicants have the opportunity to be evaluated for their excellence through an interview.
The Essay Screening (330 admissions) is evaluated with 30% student record and 70% essay scores. The 30% student record reflects only the top 30 credits completed up to the first semester of the third year, with little score difference between grades. Although the Essay Screening is highly competitive, since the essay test is conducted after the CSAT and the minimum CSAT score requirement is applied, the actual competition rate, considering the no-show rate and the pass rate of the minimum CSAT score, is lower. Given the significant influence of the essay, applicants should focus on developing their essay skills.

For the interview evaluation, a general interview is conducted based on the submitted documents without separate provided materials. The interview method may change depending on the COVID-19 situation, so applicants must check the admissions office website for updates. The essay test questions for the Essay Screening are based on the high school curriculum.
