Installation of Microdata Utilization Center at National Cancer Center... Support for Cancer Research Analysis
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] The Statistics Korea announced on the 26th that it has signed an agreement with the National Cancer Center for the 'Establishment and Operation of the Microdata Research Data Center (RDC)' and has commenced the operation of the RDC within the Cancer Center.
The RDC is a facility where users can visit in person to analyze statistical raw data in a physically secure environment.
Statistics Korea stated, "Through the installation of this RDC, we expect to expand cancer research analysis support services through data linkage and significantly contribute to the advancement of healthcare."

Seo Honggwan, Director of the National Cancer Center, said, "The demand from researchers for linking cancer data with Statistics Korea's cause-of-death statistics has continuously increased for various cancer studies," and added, "With this opening, we will support analysis to create public value through broader cancer research results by linking cancer data with Statistics Korea's cause-of-death statistics."
