NSC Standing Committee Discusses Follow-up Measures for 'Afghan Assistants'... Efforts to Resume Inter-Korean Dialogue Soon
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the afternoon of the 26th, the Blue House held a Standing Committee meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, and announced that they discussed follow-up measures related to Afghan collaborators.
Deputy Minister of Justice Kang Seong-guk also attended the meeting that day.
The attendees first reviewed the changing situation in Afghanistan and current international cooperation issues, and discussed matters concerning the smooth settlement of Afghan local collaborators and their families arriving today in Korea, as well as necessary measures including initial quarantine and safety.
In this regard, cooperation plans with relevant ministries and local governments were also discussed.

They then evaluated the results of consultations with the recently visiting U.S. and Russian senior representatives on North Korean nuclear issues, and agreed to strengthen diplomatic efforts such as close communication with related countries to promptly resume inter-Korean dialogue.
