'X-Files Are False'... Yoon Seok-yeol's Mother-in-Law's Side Submits Statement to Police
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Choi Mo (74), the mother-in-law of former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, submitted a statement to the police regarding the lawsuit she filed against her former business partner Jeong Dae-taek on charges of defamation and false accusation.
According to the police on the 23rd, Choi reportedly demanded punishment for Jeong in the statement submitted to the Seoul Seocho Police Station on the 19th of this month, and refuted the allegations in the X-file, including rumors of an affair involving her daughter Kim Gun-hee, citing 13 court rulings as evidence that the claims were false.
Last month, Choi’s side filed a complaint accusing Jeong of spreading malicious false information through the media and YouTube, charging him with defamation and false accusation.
Previously, in December 2015, the Supreme Court confirmed a fine of 10 million won against Jeong, who was prosecuted for defamation by posting online articles suggesting that Kim had an inappropriate relationship with a certain individual.

On the other hand, Jeong claimed regarding the lawsuit against him, "I have never falsely accused the family of candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, and I only broadcast the truth that falls under justifiable acts under Article 20 of the Criminal Act and the grounds for exemption from illegality under Article 310 of the Criminal Act, asserting my truth without damaging anyone’s honor."
