Kim added, "The previous evening, Lee Jun-seok, the party leader of the People Power Party, asked for former Prime Minister Chung’s consent to the appointment, and he agreed."
He said, "I don’t think there will be significant opposition to appointing former Supreme Council member Chung," and added, "If the elder takes charge and manages the primary fairly without any noise, I believe all the previous confusion will be cleared away, making it a good opportunity for a fresh start."

Meanwhile, regarding the investigation results to be announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission on real estate speculation allegations involving People Power Party lawmakers, former Supreme Council member Kim said, "Leader Lee has repeatedly vowed to respond more strongly than the Democratic Party, so I believe that promise must be kept," and added, "At the very least, they cannot respond less strongly than the Democratic Party." However, he expressed the opinion, "If the lawmakers’ claims have reasonable grounds, listening to those claims would also be consistent with the Democratic Party’s approach."
