This extraordinary session will handle important agenda items such as provincial administration questions, the 2nd supplementary budget for 2021, and hearing opinions on the incorporation of Gunwi-gun into Daegu City.
At the 1st plenary session, council members Lee Seon-hee, Na Gi-bo, and Kim Dae-il will raise questions regarding provincial administration and educational administration to examine current issues and problems and propose alternatives.
Councilor Lee will inquire about the promotion of establishing special local autonomous bodies and measures to normalize vocational high school education; Councilor Na will address measures to alleviate labor shortages in rural areas and the fostering of local industries through the relocation of public institutions to Gimcheon Innovation City; Councilor Kim will question plans to revitalize tourism using regionally specialized cultural contents and methods for preserving and managing non-designated cultural assets within the province.
The scale of the 2nd supplementary budget for 2021 under review this time increased by 821.7 billion KRW for the province and 537.8 billion KRW for the Office of Education compared to the original budget. It was organized focusing on supporting residents and the local economy suffering from COVID-19.
The matter of 'hearing opinions on the proposal to change the jurisdiction of Gyeongbuk for the incorporation into Daegu,' which was offered as an incentive by Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province to Gunwi-gun when deciding the relocation site of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk integrated new airport last year, will be discussed by the Administrative, Health, and Welfare Committee, the relevant standing committee, and is scheduled to be processed at the 2nd plenary session on the 2nd of next month. At that time, 53 out of 60 council members signed in agreement with the incorporation.
