Daejeon City announced on the 20th that it will extend social distancing level 4 for two more weeks from the 23rd of this month to the 5th of next month.
According to the city, multiple infectious disease experts pointed out that although the weekly average daily confirmed cases decreased from 75.1 in early this month to the low 40s recently, it has not reached the target of the 30s for stable infectious disease control. Considering the trend of confirmed cases spreading in the Chungcheong region, they warned that if the quarantine measures are loosened, the number of confirmed cases could surge sharply.
Accordingly, the city explained that it will extend social distancing level 4 for two weeks to block the spread of COVID-19 within the local community.
Also, considering the difficulties faced by small business owners and self-employed people due to the spread of COVID-19, the number of private gatherings allowed after 6 p.m. will be increased from the current 2 people to 4 people.
However, other quarantine rules will be applied the same as the current social distancing level 4. First, entertainment and Danranjoojeom (karaoke bars) and singing practice rooms are prohibited from operating as gathering-ban facilities, and general multi-use facilities are restricted from operating from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
After 10 p.m., eating inside convenience stores and using outdoor tables and chairs provided by restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores are also prohibited. Drinking outdoors in parks, rivers, and other outdoor areas after 10 p.m. is banned, and violators will be fined 100,000 KRW.
The number of attendees at wedding halls and funeral halls will remain at 49 or fewer as currently, and religious facilities can allow up to 99 people, within 10% of total capacity.
