Hwang Kyo-ik Withdraws as Candidate for President of Gyeonggi Tourism Organization: "I Don't Want to Cause Trouble"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] Hwang Gyo-ik, the nominee for president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, expressed his intention to voluntarily withdraw on the 20th, saying, "I do not want to cause trouble."
On the same day, Hwang wrote on Facebook, "I will give up the position of president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization," adding, "It is impossible to work as the president of the organization while engaging in exhausting disputes."
He also stated that he had things he wanted to accomplish as president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and was excited to work energetically, but the environment has made it impossible, and the employees of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization are already suffering significant damage.
Hwang wrote, "I made political slanders to protect my personality and rights. I sincerely apologize."
