One New COVID-19 Case Reported in Hwasun... Jeonnam Patient No. 2338
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] One resident in Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, has been confirmed positive for COVID-19.
According to the county on the 17th, the confirmed case classified as Jeonnam 2338 (Hwasun 100) developed suspicious symptoms the day before, underwent diagnostic testing, and was confirmed positive.
The infection route of Jeonnam 2338 has not been identified.
Immediately upon notification of the confirmed case, the county completed disinfection of the confirmed person's residence and related facilities along their movement path, and conducted emergency diagnostic tests on contacts. As a result, all close contacts, including three cohabiting family members, tested negative.
Since the 13th of this month, the county has reported four confirmed cases: one on the 13th, two on the Liberation Day holiday of the 14th, and one on the 16th.
A county official said, "We strongly request residents to refrain from hometown visits by family and relatives living in the metropolitan area, and to make sure to visit their hometown only after receiving a COVID-19 diagnostic test," adding, "Please refrain from visiting the metropolitan area and other regions, and residents who have visited other regions or high-risk facilities must get tested regardless of symptoms."
