[This Person] Park Seongsu, Songpa District Mayor, Provides Additional Support of 100,000 Won in National Subsidies for Low-Income Groups
Benefits for over 21,400 people provided separately from the government's 5th disaster relief fund... totaling 2.15 billion won
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) will provide an additional 100,000 KRW in "Additional National Support Fund for Low-Income Groups" to low-income individuals struggling financially due to COVID-19.
This is provided separately from the government's 5th disaster relief fund paid to legally designated low-income groups.
The "Additional National Support Fund for Low-Income Groups" is a project promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The eligible recipients as of August 1 are ▲ recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security Program ▲ near-poor groups (disability, self-support, reduced personal burden, verification of status) ▲ legally single-parent households (each district supporting child-rearing expenses).
The project period is two months from August to September, and without a separate application, the district office will confirm eligible recipients based on the support criteria date and pay the fund to the household representative's account in two installments. However, those who do not receive welfare benefits and require account verification must visit the local community service center in their residential jurisdiction as per their resident registration certificate to apply separately.
The district expects the total support fund to be approximately 2.15 billion KRW, benefiting about 21,400 people.
The first payment will be made on the 24th of this month. About 20,000 low-income individuals receiving social security benefits as of August 1 are eligible. The second payment is planned for September 13 for those requiring account verification and others.
