Civil Servants Trained Too, 'Civil Complaint Violence' Out! Mock Drill Conducted in Dalseong-gun, Gyeongbuk
Kim Moon-oh County Governor: "Systematic Response to Emergency Situations at Police-Linked Civil Complaint Office"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “Violence against civil complaints no longer works!” Civil petitioners who recklessly swear at government offices are instead met with strict measures.
Daegu Dalseong-gun has begun its ‘counterattack.’ It is determined not to passively tolerate the ‘gapjil violence’ openly committed by petitioners at government civil service offices.
On the 13th, a unique simulation drill was conducted to prepare for ‘civil complaint violence.’
It was an emergency preparedness simulation assuming special complaint situations such as verbal abuse and violence that may occur during civil service processing at the comprehensive civil service office.
When an emergency occurs, the drill was conducted according to a manual to protect civil service officers and promptly respond to secondary damage to visiting petitioners.
The drill was conducted jointly with the Dalseong Police Station as if it were a real situation. Using a scenario where a petitioner verbally abuses and assaults staff, the police responded quickly to the emergency bell installed in the civil service office. The effectiveness was enhanced up to the point of subduing the petitioner.
Dalseong-gun has installed and operates emergency bells linked to the Dalseong Police Station control room in the county office and nine eup/myeon civil service offices, and conducts joint simulation drills annually.
