Gamevil Reports Operating Profit of 2.9 Billion KRW in Q2, Down 73.1% YoY
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Gamevil announced on the 12th that it recorded sales of 29.6 billion KRW and an operating profit of 2.9 billion KRW in the second quarter. These figures represent decreases of 26.9% and 73.1% respectively compared to the previous year.
A slight decline in equity-method investment income and increases in labor and marketing costs affected the results.
Gamevil plans to strengthen its own game business and expand new business areas in the second half of the year. It will release large-scale seasonal updates for existing games and introduce new titles of various genres to the global market.
'2021 Gamevil Pro Baseball Superstars' will conduct a large-scale collaboration with the global hit intellectual property (IP) 'Summoners War: Sky Arena.' Characters from 'Summoners War' will appear in the game, and the system will be improved to attract positive responses from global users.
The strategic role-playing games (RPG) 'Eternal Sword' and 'Chromatic Soul: AFK Raid' will be launched globally in the fourth quarter. In addition, the release of 'Project D (tentative title)' is also forthcoming.
