According to the county on the 10th, on the 9th, a "Delta Variant Spread Prevention Measures Idea Report Meeting" was held, presided over by County Governor Shin Woo-cheol.

A total of 21 ideas were submitted, and after receiving opinions from the implementing departments, 12 were finally decided to be implemented.

The final selected ideas include operating mobile testing vehicles that visit residents, installing outdoor shower facilities at beaches, implementing comprehensive monitoring of events, meetings, and private gatherings, and distributing and promoting the habitual use of face shields for workers in marts, restaurants, and other places.

The "operation of mobile testing vehicles" aims to resolve the inconvenience of island area residents having to visit health centers for PCR tests, and by operating testing vehicles, it will be possible to quickly conduct PCR tests for symptomatic COVID-19 patients, residents traveling outside the area, and those in self-quarantine in island regions.

The mobile testing vehicles will be operated prioritizing island towns and vulnerable facilities.

Indoor shower rooms at beaches are enclosed spaces where it is difficult to comply with quarantine rules such as wearing masks and social distancing, and since they are used by unspecified many people, there is a high risk of COVID-19 transmission. Therefore, 16 outdoor shower facilities will be installed and operated on a trial basis.

The "monitoring of events, meetings, and private gatherings" involves assigning one public official from each department to be responsible for one related organization or social group, and in towns and townships, communication with village heads and heads of institutions and organizations will be conducted to identify the time, place, and number of participants in advance when events, meetings, or gatherings are held, thereby strengthening quarantine measures to prevent cluster infections.

Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, "With the spread of the Delta virus and the vacation season, the rapid increase in tourists visiting our county raises concerns about the safety of residents," adding, "The county will continue to discover and implement quarantine ideas to prevent the spread of COVID-19, so we ask for active cooperation."
