Naver Unveils Educational Laptop 'Whalebook'... Launching in Second Half of the Year
Naver has unveiled the educational smart laptop 'Whalebook.'
On the 10th, Naver launched the official 'Whalebook' website, introducing its features and design. Whalebook is set to be released in the second half of the year.
Whalebook focuses on maximizing the convenience of the educational platform 'Whale Space,' which is currently being used in educational settings across 10 cities and provinces nationwide.
The 'Class Management' feature of Whalebook enhances the quality and convenience of lessons. For example, teachers can monitor students' screens to check their problem-solving process, share the screens of students who wrote model answers or the teacher’s screen with the entire class to show solutions, and display reference materials on each student's screen individually.
Functions such as the AI voice recording service 'Clova Note' have also become more convenient with Whalebook. Clova Note converts recorded voice notes into text, distinguishing the voices of participants. Using Whalebook, both recording and editing can be done quickly and easily. Teachers can also directly provide recorded files as review materials.
Whalebook can be freely transformed into four forms?laptop, tablet, tent, and stand?depending on the usage environment. Equipped with a dedicated digital pen, it imposes no restrictions on teaching methods such as experiential learning or art classes.
It also supports the 'Whale On' solution, which allows free video classes for up to 500 participants without time limits, through a built-in dual camera designed for video lessons.
Naver collaborated with manufacturers to include a Clova AI activation button and a dedicated Naver search key.
Kim Hyo, Naver Whale’s lead manager, said, "Whalebook is a product that has been advanced in collaboration with various manufacturing partners, centering on 'usability in educational settings' throughout all stages of feature and design development, and embodies Naver’s technology. We expect it to play a role as a helper in reducing educational gaps by assisting teachers and students to fully realize their educational and learning capabilities."
