Hwang Bo-seung-hee, chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, stated in a commentary that “It is now Ahn’s turn to respond to the people’s will to vigorously move toward regime change.”
Chief Spokesperson Hwang said, “The People Power Party has completed all preparations to start the August primary bus toward regime change. If we share the same destination, it is only natural to board the bus before it departs,” urging Ahn to make a decision.
He added, “Leader Lee has already repeatedly called on Leader Ahn to engage in talks and reach an agreement, even proposing the possibility of running for president after the merger. Nevertheless, since there has been no response, considering the public’s earnestness and the physical time constraints, a deadline was set,” he emphasized.
Regarding the People’s Party’s backlash calling the pressure “power harassment,” he countered, “How can asking whether one will board the bus as the bus driver prepares to depart soon be considered ‘power harassment’?”
He continued, “Now, Ahn himself must step forward and respond to the people’s will to board the primary bus together and vigorously run toward regime change.”

For now, the People’s Party decided to continue its own course without any particular response. On the morning of the 2nd, Ahn and People’s Party lawmakers will visit the fountain square in front of the Blue House to hold a leadership relay protest urging an investigation into the mastermind behind the ‘Druking’ case. To accommodate this, the People’s Party postponed the originally scheduled Supreme Council meeting.
