Seoul Police Chief Choi Gwan-ho Inspects Dobong-gu Health Center Quarantine Site... "Strengthening Collaboration with Local Governments"
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghoon Jeong] On the 29th, Choi Gwan-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, visited the epidemiological investigation and quarantine site at Dobong-gu Public Health Center in Seoul to encourage newly appointed police officers mobilized for local government epidemiological investigations and discussed ways to strengthen support for epidemiological investigations with the district mayor and other quarantine officials.
Amid the ongoing fourth wave of COVID-19 that shows no signs of slowing down, the Seoul city government has requested additional police personnel to support epidemiological investigation sites. In response, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is seeking support measures to protect citizen safety and socially vulnerable groups in the new era of autonomous policing.
Commissioner Choi stated, "The police are providing maximum available personnel support comprehensively at quarantine sites, including support for public health center epidemiological investigations, safe transportation and storage of vaccines, and joint inspections and crackdowns on quarantine rule violations. We will continue to strengthen cooperation systems with local governments to ensure citizens' safety."
