The Daegu District Court Criminal Division 11 (Judge Lee Sung-wook) announced on the 28th that it sentenced Mr. A, a member of the Daegu Jung-gu Council in his 50s, who was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act, to a fine of 8 million won.
According to the Daegu District Court, Mr. A was indicted on charges of hitting a motorcycle while making an illegal left turn on a road in Jung-gu, Daegu, on January 5th, and fleeing the scene.

The judge explained the sentencing reason, saying, "The defendant damaged the motorcycle and fled without taking any measures, which is a serious offense. However, considering that the defendant reflected on the crime and voluntarily appeared at the investigative agency the day after the incident to surrender."
