LG Hello "Braille Stickers Made by Employees Attached to Public Institutions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Joesulgina] LG HelloVision announced on the 27th that it produced elevator braille stickers for the visually impaired in collaboration with Haemil Library, a braille library in Bucheon, and delivered them to public institutions in Bucheon. After the spread of COVID-19 made it difficult for the visually impaired to recognize braille due to antibacterial films attached to elevator buttons, employees took the initiative to produce braille stickers themselves.
Thirty employees who applied for remote volunteering made 1,200 braille stickers indicating floor numbers and the functions up, down, open, and close. Haemil Library was responsible for pre-production training and inspection, enhancing the quality of the activity. The braille stickers made by LG HelloVision employees will be attached to more than 40 elevators in 15 public institutions in Bucheon, including the city hall, city council, and health centers, which are frequently visited by the visually impaired.
In addition, LG HelloVision donated filming equipment such as cameras, microphones, and lighting to the visually impaired studio operated by Haemil Library. The purpose is to help visually impaired individuals plan and produce various barrier-free content themselves. The donated items also had braille stickers made by employees attached.
Employee Lee Jiseon, who participated in this activity, said, "I recently saw news about the difficulties faced by the visually impaired, so making braille stickers felt even more meaningful," and added, "I want to continue participating in social contribution activities." LG HelloVision continues to provide customized support to socially vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, the elderly, and children and youth who are struggling due to COVID-19 through monthly volunteer activities.
