Police Summon General Programming Channel Reporter Over Alleged Bribery by 'Fake Seafood Businessman'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] A comprehensive programming channel reporter suspected of receiving graduate school tuition fees from Kim (43), who impersonated a fisherman, appeared at the police station on the 25th.
According to the police on the 25th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Unit summoned the comprehensive programming channel reporter Jeong for investigation around 10 a.m. on the same day on suspicion of receiving money and goods from Kim (violation of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act).
Jeong is reported to be suspected of receiving tuition support from Kim while attending a graduate school at a private university in Seoul. Kim, who was indicted on fraud charges, testified in previous police investigations that he gave money and goods to prosecutors, police executives, and journalists.
The police are investigating eight people, including Deputy Chief Prosecutor Lee (former Chief Prosecutor of Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office), Lee Dong-hoon, former editorial writer of Chosun Ilbo, former Pohang Southern Police Station Chief Baek (suspended), and TV Chosun anchor Eom Seong-seop, and have summoned them for questioning.
