Gangwon Police Completely Block Minnochoeng Public Transport Union Wonju Rally... Strict Response
"Principle of Arresting in Flagrante Delicto... Pursue Until the End, Judicial Processing Without Exception"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency plans to completely block the rally of the Korean Public Service and Transport Workers' Union of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) on the 23rd, following Wonju City's announcement of a level 3 social distancing and assembly ban administrative order.
The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency stated on the day, "We will strictly respond to the 'Rally Urging Direct Employment of Non-regular Workers' scheduled to be held by the KCTU Public Service and Transport Workers' Union in Wonju on the 23rd in accordance with relevant laws and principles."
They added, "Holding an illegal rally despite Wonju City's prohibition order is considered a serious crime that threatens community safety and destroys legal order, and we plan to respond strictly to illegal acts."
During the process of taking action against illegal activities, the police will, as a principle, arrest those caught in the act for obstruction of official duties and other illegal and violent acts, and will thoroughly collect evidence and pursue all other illegal acts to the end, without exception, for judicial processing.
