Jinju City Provides Up to 360,000 KRW Annual Reimbursement for Dementia Treatment Management Fees
For Households with Median Income Below 120% Taking Dementia Medication
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Dementia Safety Center in Jinju-si, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that it will provide dementia treatment management expenses to diagnosed dementia patients to alleviate the economic burden on dementia patients and their families.
The support targets are those diagnosed with dementia who are taking dementia medication and whose income is below 120% of the median income. However, those eligible for medical support as veterans or for medical expense support for the disabled are excluded.
To apply, bring a prescription including the dementia diagnosis code and the name of the dementia medication, a copy of a bankbook in the applicant’s name (if the bankbook is in a family member’s name, a family relationship certificate is required), and an ID card, and visit the Dementia Safety Center.
If selected as a beneficiary for dementia treatment management expenses, the patient can receive reimbursement for dementia medication costs and the out-of-pocket medical expenses on the day of prescription up to 30,000 KRW per month (360,000 KRW per year).
