Nowon-gu 'Ddok Ddok Ddok Care Team' Story of Saving Precious Life of Mr. A...?
Care Team Only Confirmed Lying Down Through Security Window... Suspicion of 'Just in Case'... Dong Resident Center Welfare Planner Quickly Reported to 119... Situation Was Dangerous If Delayed Even Slightly... Receiving Emergency Treatment and Recovering... Medical Expenses to Be Supported Through Emergency Welfare Assistance
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced on the 21st that the Smart Smart Care Team saved a precious life through their suspicion and the welfare planner's prompt response.
A man in his 60s, Mr. A, is a single male household who has been continuously monitored as a welfare beneficiary of the Smart Smart Care Team since February this year due to diabetes, alcoholism, and severe mental illness.
On the 20th, the Smart Smart Care Team visited the apartment where Mr. A lives to check on him as usual, but only saw him lying down beyond the narrow security window, and he did not come outside. Concerned, the team left but could not shake their suspicion and revisited on the 21st. Upon confirming Mr. A was still lying down, the team immediately requested a visit from the welfare planner, just in case.
At 2 p.m. on the 21st, the welfare team leader and the responsible officer, welfare planners from Junggye 2 and 3-dong Community Centers, immediately went to the apartment and knocked on the door, but there was no response. When Mr. A’s phone was also turned off, they recognized the seriousness of the situation and immediately reported it to 119.
The dispatched paramedics and police forcibly opened the door and found Mr. A unconscious, quickly transporting him to a local hospital. Mr. A is currently recovering after overcoming the critical condition, and the district office plans to support medical expenses through emergency welfare assistance.
The Smart Smart Care Team was launched last February to address welfare blind spots where existing care services do not reach. Composed of about 200 local residents familiar with the local situation, the team actively conducts home visits, welfare check calls, and discovers cases requiring welfare support for a total of 6,311 people in 697 households in need of care.
