KB Financial Group Opens Applications for 'KB Starters' Targeting Startups Within 6 Years of Establishment
Providing Various Benefits Including Exclusive Gangnam Space Residency, Collaboration with KB Financial, and Investment Attraction Opportunities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi]KB Financial Group will open applications from the 21st for the '2021 Second Half KB Starters,' a program challenging startups within six years of establishment to develop innovative services together with KB Financial.
In this open recruitment, startups with high originality, innovation, and growth potential will be selected not only in fintech but also in various fields. In particular, active opportunities will be provided to startups based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aimed at creating social value, aligning with the group's mission of 'Finance that Changes the World.'
Selected companies as 'KB Starters' will be offered ▲collaboration opportunities with KB Financial affiliates ▲expert management consulting ▲investment attraction ▲global expansion ▲recruitment support, and rapid management support through scale-up programs tailored to each growth stage, along with the opportunity to move into the 320-pyeong (approx. 1,057 m²) collaboration space 'KB Innovation Hub' located in Gangnam, Seoul.
KB Financial has been enhancing the value of startup companies by creating various success cases through effective group-level investment and partnership support targeting 'KB Starters.' As of the end of June 2021, a total of 140 companies have been selected, with 198 cumulative business partnerships and a total investment amount reaching 61.1 billion KRW. They plan to support cumulative investments worth 70 billion KRW by the end of 2021.
A KB Innovation Hub official stated, "Support for innovative companies is based on Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu's management philosophy that investment in innovation is an investment in the future, and we are leading efforts to foster startup growth." He added, "Especially, KB Financial will continue to expand various programs that provide more growth opportunities to startups creating and spreading social value and enable mutual growth."
