Suncheon-si Secures Additional 2.1 Billion KRW for Agricultural Production Infrastructure Support Project
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 20th that it has secured an additional 2.1 billion KRW to promote projects supporting joint pest control for rice and the expansion of agricultural infrastructure to ensure stable farm management and convenience for elderly, female, and small-scale farmers.
The city reflected the reality of rural decline and the increasingly difficult agricultural environment, and to revitalize agriculture and rural areas by expanding a stable farming foundation, it secured an additional 1.8 billion KRW for maintenance of farm roads and drainage channels in eup, myeon, and dong areas as part of agricultural infrastructure improvement projects, and 300 million KRW for joint pest control of rice covering 3,400 hectares mainly for small-scale farms, thus beginning full-scale project implementation.
Along with this, the city secured a budget for promotion to spread the public value of agriculture and rural areas and raise awareness, aiming to provide an opportunity to re-recognize the value of agriculture and rural areas as a precious life industry.
