KIPO Hosts Online Webinar on Key Intellectual Property Tips from Major Countries
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced on the 20th that it will hold an online "Major Countries Intellectual Property Tips Webinar" from the 21st to the 26th in collaboration with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency.
A webinar is a compound word of "Web" and "Seminar," referring to a seminar conducted on the internet.
The Major Countries Intellectual Property Tips Webinar was organized by the Overseas Intellectual Property Center (hereinafter IP-DESK) to support domestic companies in securing intellectual property rights and responding to disputes as they expand overseas.
IP-DESK is currently established in seven countries including the United States, China, and Japan. In the webinar, IP-DESK will invite intellectual property experts from each country as speakers to guide participants through the intellectual property application to registration procedures, precautions, major dispute cases, and countermeasures.
The schedule will proceed in the order of China on the 21st, the United States and Europe on the 22nd, Thailand and the Philippines on the 23rd, and Japan and Vietnam on the 26th.
During this period, KIPO will also hold a Q&A session to address questions from applying companies. In particular, as a special segment, on the 21st, a one-on-one intellectual property video consultation session for companies entering China will be held, and on the 26th, cases of intellectual property infringement and countermeasures in the K-Food and K-Quarantine sectors will be introduced respectively.

Jung Yeon-woo, Director of the Industrial Property Protection Cooperation Bureau at KIPO, said, "We will help domestic companies preparing to expand overseas understand and respond to the different intellectual property systems in each country," and added, "We hope this event prepared by IP-DESK will be of practical help in securing overseas intellectual property rights and responding to disputes for domestic companies."
